Developmental Para Professional (DPP)

Job Coaching Services Provided Include: Developmental Therapy, Adult Day Health Services, Habilitative Support, Respite, Job Coach, CSE, EES, et al

Working with clients in the:

  • Adult Program
  • Children’s Program

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • High School Diploma or GED and meet any age requirements for services provided
  • Pass an initial Criminal Background check
  • Have reliable transportation with current car insurance and driver’s license
  • No mileage or travel reimbursement
  • Can drive Journeys vehicles if 21 or older as needed
  • Successful completion of Habilitative Supports training required for staff providing Habilitative Supports Services
  • Become certified in First Aid and CPR within 60 days of employment and maintain certification throughout employment
  • Maintain all required licenses and certifications
  • Attend a New-Hire Orientation within 60 days of employment
  • Maintain high standards of ethical conduct
  • Perform individual instruction activities with participants
  • Gather necessary materials and information pertinent for instruction and plan instruction time
  • Deliver instruction to practice skills previously taught
  • Reinforce learned skills through individualized practice
  • Daily documentation of results of instructional activities. Summarize data from instructional or behavioral programs
  • Analyze participant performance errors
  • Review data weekly with direct supervisor and attend weekly training for a total of 12 hours annually, as well as completing any other training required for services provided
  • Meet with direct supervisor monthly to review performance and acquire feedback on service quality
  • Coordinate communication to parent/guardian with direct supervisor
  • Attend IPP/ISP meetings as requested
  • Read and implement behavioral intervention programs with participants
  • Turn in hours bi-monthly (on the 1st & 15th) on time sheet for personal compensation
  • Channel concerns, questions, and information to direct supervisor
  • Other duties and responsibilities specified by supervisor
  • There will be a 90 day probationary period where Journeys DDA has the right to terminate employment if employee is not meeting expectations and responsibilities
